Fun with Ebay!

You gotta love Ebay, it really is the largest marketplace EVER. It spans the entirety of the world and thanks to Al Gore’s Intertubes you can find damn near anything your looking for! For we guitar junkies it is a necessity, where else can you find all the used gear you could ever want along with the slim hope of getting it cheap? Ok, so there is a good chance that your not going to get that guitar or pedal for your opening bid, but who knows, maybe you will end up with a barely used item that you got for way less than retail.

But for me, Ebay is also a great source of entertainment! Everyday on the old ‘bay you can find peole who are completly out of their minds trying to sell crap for unheard of prices. How do you find these special folks? All you need to do is the following:

1. In the search bar, type: “guitar”

2.  Use the “Sort by” drop down and select “Price: highest first”

3. Fear for the fate of humanity 

My friends, what you will find using this search will provide you with countless hours of entertainment.

For example, have a look at this little gem:

The listing is for a “JIMI hendrix 63 Fender Stratocaster guitar art PAINTING” and admittedly it is not bad, I even happen to like it. But the sellers asking price of $21 000 000 (read: TWENTY ONE MILLION FUCKING DOLLARS!) is a little out of my price range. I see that they are nice enough to have included a “Make an offer” option, but I don’t see them accepting anything close to reasonable.

Where oh where do I begin? Lets start with a very simple question… who in God’s name is this “Jimmy Hindrix” person? and this is why I love Ebay sooooo freaking much. The best part of this auction has to be the shipping charge:

So you mean to tell me that after I drop 21 Mill on your “Jimmy Hindrix” masterpiece I don’t even get free shipping? Lame.
